I needed to get out, take an adventure, and enjoy what life has brought to me. I booked my flight to Las Vegas and began my “Inspired Escape” at SKYLOFTS at MGM Grand. SKYLOFTS is where I knew I could indulge and relax in my own two-story loft with floor-to-ceiling windows at the top two floors of MGM Grand; I knew that I was going to have an ambient environment filled with a world famous skyline. Before I flew into Las Vegas International, I was contacted by the SKYLOFTS’ Concierge who assisted me with making sure my weekend stay was complete with all MGM Grand has to offer including preferred seating at shows, such as Cirque du Soleil’s KÀ and any MGM Grand Garden Arena events. But, I had to book my table at Japonais and the Concierge immediately settled that in an instant. I chose the complimentary airport transfer in a Maybach, which after the flight, sitting next to—well, you know those passengers... was the perfect beginning to my retreat. Arriving at MGM Grand, I was greeted by my own personal Butler who said he was available 24 hours a day to meet my needs. Hmmm... that can get a guy to start thinking, and since I was alone... No, never mind. But, what is amazing is that I was given the option of choosing my own array of amenities that made my stay feel more personal—I love that!
I yearn for panache, so selections such as: aromatherapy scents, an assortment of lighting and music, all the way to my own selection of pillows, herbal teas and four exclusive coffees for use with an in-loft Jura espresso machine, practically set me in heaven and I had just set my luggage down. (Complimentary luggage unpacking and packing services by the Butler are provided, but since I just met this person, I opted out.) I was not sure about letting them see the fun things I brought with me, at least not yet. With my custom, private bar stocked before my arrival, I am ready to start this experience. MY WAY! After taking a minute to collect myself, I noticed a Tony Chi fertility sculpture staring at me from the front of my business desk with the mood lighting set to evening—absolutely beautiful. I washed my hands with Bulgari soap plentifully presented in the bathroom, made myself a latté, and checked my email to catch up on anything I may have missed. I had to take another minute to stare outside my windows at the view; I had found a rare escape in Las Vegas no one expects, but everyone should know about. |

| The loft is inviting, warm, classy, and completely comfortable. Fresh berries are on the dining table for my taste buds to enjoy and I plug in my iPod to the sound system and de-robe for the long awaited dip in the Infinity-edge spa tub that each loft comes with. You have to sit in one of these tubs; the champagne bubbles treat your body to a gentle massage and I am so happy to be here. To say that I’m completely relaxed is an understatement. Relaxed is the adjective of the weekend. Therefore, after my bath, an hour of steaming away any traveling discomfort in my own steam room, and yes, my bathroom is equipped with the “Immersion Chamber,” is in need. The “Immersion Chamber” overhangs from the second floor with a transparent window letting me view the take-offs and landings at the airport while standing underneath two shower heads mounted above, making it feel as if I were in my own, personal rain forest. I took off and landed about three times before drying off—so tranquil. After collecting my personalized stationery and business cards that SKYLOFTS pre-engraved for me, I headed down to check out which Porsche vehicle I want to use to help my stay feel that much more amazing. I choose the Porsche Cayman S. SKYLOFTS teamed with Porsche Cars North America for me to have my own Porsche sports car or 2008 Cayenne SUV, so I can drive anywhere I desire. I enjoy exploring Las Vegas. Creating another personal adventure to locations not many people go to, I have recently found a great location in Pahrump at the Willow Creek Championship Golf Course. It is only a 40 or so minute drive away to an 18-hole, weeping willowed landscape and if that means taking another drive around in the sports car of the weekend, then so be it. Now about “my” car: |
Porsche Cayman SRunning my fingers over a smooth, muscular lined body shell, escaping into my own brightly lit cockpit-like atmosphere and feeling the vibrations behind my back of its 3.4-liter engine (growling not purring) is just the beginning of an emotional ride I am having with the new Porsche Cayman S. If 0-60 mph in only 5.1 seconds, available luggage storage between the front and rear compartments for my golf clubs, cooler, changes of clothes, etc., and crisp sound reverberating among the Bose loudspeakers (10 to be exact) start your mouth to water, then become envious of me, but know you too can get this at your fingertips.
Keeping my eyes on the aluminum colored dials with a tachometer in the middle of my instrument panel, I noticed that I can clock myself with the timer affixed right on the top of the dash. I had to try it—and I think I got 0-70 mph in six seconds, but kept my eyes looking for any traffic patrollers. I need to get back to the Autobahn again (sigh). The experience yearns for corners while I gripped the steering wheel and the adjustable, electric, memory-function seats and pedal position allow for my ultimate comfort and fit my body to its specifications; like a ball in glove. When you know you have to give the sports car back at the end of your stay, it is still worth that weekend of bliss. All of the lavish pieces that a guy loves to be pampered with and everything available 24 hours a day by an attentive employee, gives “special” a whole new meaning. Plus, if I didn’t want to leave my room, with exception to an extraordinary drive in my Porsche, initially lounging around all day is what happens to you when you stay in the SKYLOFTS. They have made the designated expression, “Inspired Escape” literal in its meaning. This is great, a weekend escape from my busy world and enjoying it in Las Vegas. I love to view life differently each day and I am truly ecstatic that I found SKYLOFTS at MGM Grand combined with Porsche’s team to create a unique, personal stay that kept my senses alive every minute of my relaxing weekend.
